I just remembered that I heard them soundchecking Lenny earlier in the day.  Was walking around and thought it'd be cool to see if they were soundchecking (and maybe get in :) )  and whaddya know, I put my ear up to the door and listen to Lenny for a good three or four minutes

I still listen to this show all the time. Pony especially dominates that Rocker 2, that bassline is money. I remember him coming out looking like he was ready to kill someone. I honestly hadn't seen the band have that fun (or at least display it) ever. What a great night - other highlights are the jam out of Kitchen, an especially energetic Fussy, CW2, Cheap Sunglasses, reso stew, and of course that ridiculous encore.

This show is definitely fire.  First set has great flow.  Rocker II is one of the better versions of the year.  They tease Regulate earlier in the show straight out of In the Kitchen, then play it in that rap mash-up jam to start the 2nd set?  CoolAF.

Cheap Sunglasses I could do without.   But seriously, the Reso > Lyric Stew > Reso > JO > Bridgeless + Phil's/Lenny to end the show is incredible.  Can't believe they busted out that lyric Stew after 5 years...and it is completely incredible.

The booth love is also a notably good version. That's the type of first set I love to see from this band.

Yeah, the Morning Song wasn't as . . . peculiar as I thought it would be as a closer.

I actually like it in that spot. It has a very powerful ending, definitely a good note to go to setbreak on. They did it again in D.C. a couple of weeks ago so maybe it's something they're going to do more often.

And Iowa City in March of this year, they opened that version up too. it was pretty sweet

Yeah I forgot about that - that's one of those shows that doesn't have an enthralliing setlist but had some really great improv. Will have to relisten.

Are the chords that they use right at the start of the ITK improv anything in particular?  I just noticed them in another jam.  Same feel same chords (I think)

Edit: Is it Regulate?
2nd Edit:  I just noticed somebody mentioned a Regulate tease earlier, so I guess so

This show was sick, the crowd was really energetic.  By far the most crowd surfing I've seen at an UM show.  The Morning Song to end the 1st set was very strong, really

Yep.  2nd set was ballz too.  Ringo and the ITK-Stew segment were personal highlights.  The only minor quibble I have is the CWII was a little long for me, but I'm prolly in the minority here.  Either way I feel like this is a prototypical "great summer UM show", accordingly I have been bumping it quite a bit lately.  Very happy with the dog selection.
