Favorite thing I've ever heard Bayliss say was "Thank you for paying attention". I'm pretty sure it was at the end of one of the Ryman shows this year (3.29 maybe, not positive---have listened to alot of UM lately). Wherever it was, just goes to show how highly the band thought of the crowd. Usually it's the "thank you for letting us do what we do" or "get home safe". But "thank you for paying attention" is high praise in my book.

Bayliss: "It's going to be a hot one tonight people so guys keep your shirts on but ladies it's ok to take it off."

Joel: "Provided this is an 18 and over show, we don't want to encourage that people."

Bayliss: "It's Friday, Joel.  These people came here to have a good time, don't lecture them about age groups and shit like that."

This quote is already in the thread linked above, and even has more information

From 6/6/2008 after Example 1 opener:

BB: It's gonna be a hot one tonight people, so uh, guys keep your shirts on but ladies it's OK to take 'em off.
Joel:  Provided this is an 18 and over show.  We don't want to encourage..[inaudible]
BB: It's Friday Joel, these people came here to have a good time, don't lecture them about age groups and shit like that.
Stasik?: Age groups?  Is this church camp?  What is this, c'mon...
Joel: Are we in conflict?
Brendan: We'd like to play a song for you now.

Great question. We should open it up to Bron and see what he thinks is appropriate.

The great fake "The Edge" show!  Dec 3rd 2005 in Seattle.  Towards the end of FF the band announces that The Edge from U2 is in town and wants to come play a song.  He comes on stage with an accent and asks if he can play drums.  They tease Sunday Bloody Sunday then go into Syncopated Strangers.  Afterwards before he gets off stage he says something like "this reminds me of home where we like pork chop pie!"

Funny thing is everyone thought it was really The Edge!  He was walking around the crowd at the end of the show and people were lining up and talking to him and I think he might have signed and autograph or two, lol.  We all thought it was him.

A while later we found out he was the drummer for Ali Baba's Tahini I think, something like that.  Anyway, he held the accent all night and really pulled it off!
