I'm all about jazzy Jake and he nails that solo 9 times outta 10! For a sick Synco, you should check out the 3.2.08 Syncopated with Kevin Sinclair sitting in. Before the solo begins, Jake says, "So this is where SAX on the beach should be happening everytime, and now we can do it with Mr. Kevin Sinclair. This is the REAL part of the tune right here, this is it!" Sinclair nails it, like he nailed the Wife Soup solo a year before (3.24.07) and him and Jake have a sweet call and response before going into the ending lyrics. Links to follow:

3.2.08 First Ave

And I guess the 3.24.07 show isn't on the archive. Just take my word for it, Sinclair nails that solo!

Rocker (Pt. II) > dance party > Synco > Sax on the Beach is what's up.  My favorite segment of that 3 night run.  The Slacker > Higgins ... Visions > Slacker first set bookends from 2.29 are pretty hot too.

The back into DBK drum bit from a jam or other song
Everything in HBB
The rocking riff in Wappy, particularly when Jake hits that bend

definitely this.

toughest thread i've seen yet, but love the challenge:

- there are several areas of Divisions, but the Jake solo (after first drum/perc section), Brendan's solo and the ending just make you want to stand and stare
- luv the 2X2 takeout; Brendan defines what 'resolution of a peak' is
- the intros to Slacker, Front Porch, Wappy Sprayberry, Sociable Jimmy (especially Brendan's reverb/delay chords just before each vox)
- the guitar trade-off early in 1348 (Brendan, then Jake, especially where Waful hits, one then both with a spotlight) and the duels in Partyin' Peeps, Miss Tinkle's Overture and All in Time
- the intro and ending of All in Time and Ocean Billy
- Brendan's takeout in August
- the eerieness of the Alex's House and Atmosfarag intro's

i'll keep pondering for more . . .

I'm reviving this thread to add:

Jake's background playing under BB's classical riff in DBK.  I've always been a fan of rock bands playing classical stuff (see Trans Siberian Orchestra) so that stuff is right up my alley

Didn't read to much of this thread prior to the last few posts so some of these undoubtedly repeat

The end build up> resolution at the  end of sociable Jimmy

When Kris uses e drum in the beginning of #5 also andy's and joel's solos in #5

Dirty Jake slide solo at the cem 1

The moment you know it's turn & RUN

The beginning of anchor drops

The epic Joel solo> bayliss solo in wizard after the first break down( but really any fat bayliss solo.)

The studio drum fill intro to mulche's, the intro fill to wizard and the intro fill to hbb (new and old)

Jake solos in atmosfarag

That sweet riff during the verses of andy's last beer as well as the odd timed clapping from jake

BB's solo in DBK, specifically the 9/10/11 one, whenever i listen to it i get this mental image that the guitar is exploding with noise and all bayliss is doing is controlling what notes are coming out (if that makes any sense)

its such a powerful solo

the harmonization during the lyrics "all the while through every mile i should've spoken up, and living here in retrospect it makes it tough" and "ultimately you could never be the only one, there's something sad about the fact what's done is done" in Rocker Pt 2 sends chills down my spine every time i hear this song, at home or live. It's just absolutely perfect to me. This song was newer when I first started seeing them in '08 (at least they introduced it as newer when I saw them" and I continuously chase this song. It's probably my #2 favorite UM song EVER.

 :)

One of my favorite parts in any song ever.  I can't help but sing it as loud as possible whenever I hear it

-This is what I thought of 1st when I saw the thread title!  That and the very beginning of the song, w/ the triangle stuff and the slow build=massive raging to come
-Every time Myers plays the transition drum fill in DBK to end one of the jams and the little riff after it
-Joel's solo section in Sociable
-Hard to beat that HBB peak for sheer epic calamity!

All in Time, the part between "I can see that when your eyes look down" and the end.
