Lol @ whoever said the glory "didn't do it for them." I've seen five or six and this was arguably (maybe 4/8/09) the best I have seen.

Some peoples Kids!!

That Glory was SO beautiful!! Even if it smelled a bit reminiscent of Bobby Browns elbow wax, and crack cocaine...

After having listened to everything through Rocker II by now, I have to say I liked a lot of moments from this show.  Well above average.  I am a big fan of the Linear>return to N2F, the Reso and the Rocker II.  I do wish they didn't sandwich the Fir.  I like Day Nurse, but much prefer my Fir's unadulterated and with imrov than with a DN in the middle.  Still, this is a really fun show.  Props to Bayliss for trying Freedom on '76 in a bigger setting than the poolside set at Holidaze. That is a cover I could hear again (even though it will likely be rare going forward).

I would take a Sweetness over Glory any day of the week.  That's not saying I don't like Glory, but it's certainly not a song I ever want to hear going into a show...

agreed. i love sweetness. glory is all about the right placement...and it usually never has the right placement.

dear lord >>> glory as well

I think it has to do with how common Glory is.  Glory isn't as rare is dear lord or sweetness, so you appreciate those more if you get them.

The best glory placement I've seen was after haji during summercamp this past year.l

Yup...completely agree with this being the best placement of glory for sure

The 2nd set might be my favorite set of the year so far.

^ It was called Pennis on Local Band Does OKlahoma, so Jake decided to have fun and name it that on the setlist

That was Ocean Billy's original name. I actually think it is called Pennis on Local Band Does OKlahoma. There used to be a brief explanation of the "Pennis" origin on the Umphreaks lyric site...something about it was a game very similar to tennis that some of the band members used to play in the basement of some venue or something. Can anyone back any of this up?

Started listening to the Philly show this afternoon, about halfway through the 1st day of a 4-day weekend !!! FUCK YA.

Anyway, I am 12 minutes into Resolution during Set 1.  This Reso is very badass and probably a top 10 jam that I have heard from 2012 so far.  Since the Biscuits are going to be taking this "indefinite" break, I am very glad my interest in UM has been sparked once again.  I hit 60 shows early in 2009 and have hit a wall for the most part, seeing 1-2 ea. the last two years.  Really like the "Mayan Opener" as I thought it was harder but still had great flow for an intro.  Ocean Billy was strong but not close to the great NYE version.  Glad to see they are starting to make one my favorite songs (OB) into one of those tunes that MAKES or BREAKS a set, or at least helps do these things.....Conduit had a very small, boring jam IMO and I do not like Forks.  Glory is Glory for me but this one definitely had PUNCH.  Listening to the end of Morning Song right now and I give BB a pat on the back.  Great version.

to be continued...

I love the vibe this 1348 gives off.  A lot different from others I've heard...

I accidentally turned on my Visualization toggle for iTunes during the Dubbed out Fir. And it is actually really cool, lol.

I initially read this as visualization goggles before I finished the sentence, and I must say... for a second, I was very, very excited.

I loved that glory as well and thought it might have been the best I've seem to date (Other than that huge 15 min Jamed out one from last September in Pittsburgh) almost wish Jake would have sang that " I'll always love you" tease instead if playing it tho

Speaking of hard to sing covers, I'm wondering if the band decided to drop Roundabout.  I can't check here at work because PT and umphreys.com are blocked ("entertainment"), but I don't think it's been played since fairly early 2011.

Yeah you're right, according to PT and Umphreys.com its only been played four times, the last time was 3/12 at The Fillmore. I really hope they don't completely stop playing this cover because they do a damn good job with it.

i saw it over new years and at nokia in nyc

siiiiiick

edit: best buy theatre, rather

don't think it was intentional, but stasik leading some Search 4 teases in the Linear.  woulda been a sick segue

6:10 and on for almost a minute

Yeah I heard this, but knew it wasn't gonna happen due to it being played in buffalo.

Finally got around to listening to this one and I'm sad I wasn't able to make it down for this one!  Might be my favorite of 2012 so far...

Anyway, isn't Stasik teasing the instrumental part at the end of Waist Down here, not Search 4?  The rhythms and time signature are similar, but it's not Search 4.

This Reso is off the charts for me, the second jam in it is probably my favorite piece of music from them this year
