I had a great time... SOYCD hits a soft spot in my heart and even though the more seasoned fans don't really care to hear it, you can hear the cheering in the audio as much as when the disco ball got lit up!!!!!

I turned 32 at midnight and had a blast in Boston, my only complaint was that I couldn't make it to philly for a real b-day show.

Also loved walking on the moon - after 3 shows last year, its really difficult to be able to complain.

Great to see many of you

Hopefully there will be more dates for us in the NE soon!!!

Only have listened to set 1 again so far and it was basically standard with a little fun at the beginning.  Still enjoyed it live/on tape as the song selection is good for the most part.

Listening to 120 now to start set 2!  GOOD SHIT.  Definitely hope this makes a current rotation.  Nice segue into Domino.

this domino theory has one of the loosest, highest energy jams i've ever heard them do... extreme party jam.  kinda reminds me of the 12/30/07 triple wide as far as looseness and energy.

this was my "domino theory moment'. i will now forever love domino theory. that weird pool in brooklyn was my 'the floor moment'....hated the song before that, loved it ever since.

i love my umphreys moments :)

In the live setting, I would probably give the show a A-.  You know, it IS a live show and everything.

Listening on tape, it would receive a B (in my humble opinon....).  A quick reasoning behind this grade would be the good/great song selection depending on your likes in both sets.  1st set had plenty of fun energy but suffered if you were looking for some spontaneous improvisation. 2nd set of this show was DAMN good IMO.  Domino, Wappy, Booth, and even enjoyed the powerful Haji > Junk ending!  If I were to grade both sets when listening on disc, 1st set would get a C with 2nd getting an A.  Night and day when listening FOR SURE,  but both were awesome live as I've stated.

EDIT: I forgot to add that they could have made Set 2 MUCH, MUCH better IF they CUT Shine On as I hated the placement and don't really want to hear the song, set 2, PARTYING with ladies on a Friday Night, ya know?!?  They could have played DBK/Tribute in its place and moved Junk ending to the end of Snucka.  The dominance level would have raised another tier of Musical Mutilation !!!!

I have to agree with melanie and say that this easily could have been "My Domino Theory Moment" like stated by her because this Theory kicked MAJOR fricken' ASS!.  From this moment on, I will probably always enjoy catching a DT any point during the show, yo!

I agree.  The first set doesn't have much replay value, IMO (Intro > JaJunk > The Floor and lyrical stew being the exception).  I'll be listening to the Domino, Wappy and Booth Love jams for a LONG time.

i said this after the show, except a lil more bluntly, ok i said 1st set sucked, and was met with some skepticism.  i figured most people would end up agreeing.  lots of good songs, just too many ballads and not enough improv.  jajunk was pretty good and uplifting, i didn't really care for the pony stew.

also agreed with brett about everything in set 2... although my roomy was pumped to hear SOYCD which made it fun at the time, and it actually segued nicely on both ends, but through in a day/night nurse there for similar segueness and you've got the BEST SET EVER!

I admit that WOTM was a let down cover.  I can think of 30 other Police songs I would like to hear.  They played Ms. Gradeko a few nights later.  How about a bust of When the World is Running Down?

samesies. That, JaJunk > The Floor and Divisions > The Pequod > Divisions were the only good things about the 1st set.

Not much I can say about the show except to mention the fact that I feel lucky to live in Boston. Umphrey's spoils us, filthily.

That said, did anyone have just enough energy left to rock out to Mastodon on the way out of the show?  8)

After relistening, having been there, I can say unequivocally that this was a "You had to have been there" show.  Only the 2nd set has the replay value, but it was one of the most fun UM shows I've ever been to.  I feel this moreso than maybe any show I've attended, must've been an energy thing.

I agree with you 100%.  Did not hold up on tape (except 120 > domino), but I walked out of that place with my face in my hands.  Waful finally being able to do some real work there made a huge difference.
