Indeed.. but in the beginning UM definitely drew a lot of inspiration from moe.  More so than just "that's a good one hit wonder we can cover!" 

And I love those early loose soundin' moe. shows.

even if it was an "extremely average" set (i'd put it slightly above average before listening back) it doesn't even matter. we were on a beach with a ton of friends. it was a fucking blast.

I love this August jam!!  Really fun show.  I don't always understand the Gulf Stream and/or Words hate (having said that I don't go to shows "seeking" either) but these tunes were great on the beach surrounded by so many friends.  I realized that I hadn't seen a Thin Air live since 10.9.08 so that was a really nice treat.  All in all I thought all three nights of Mexico were rock solid but musically probably not as good as the Nokia run the weekend before.  For the folks complaining about UM losing a little time on Friday, get over it!  We were lucky to get music that night at all given the lightning.  The extra 15 minutes on Sunday probably didn't "make up" for the 30 or so minutes that we were "owed" from Friday, but it was a nice touch nonetheless.

Yep!!  Thanks man!  Awesome venue to celebrate 100 in.  There was another guy (Grant maybe?) who was celebrating their 100th and I believe Marianne was on 99...  Great times!
