Ocean Billy jam was really awesome, I think it's a repeat of a lyrical Stew but I have to double check them against eachother.

i thought this show was decent. nothing more, nothing less. it seemed like they couldn't really connect on any of the jams, and everything was either aborted or fizzled out. the ocean billy was nice (complete with a shout-out to T and beau, love you guys!). the GiB was nice too, but again it kind of just leveled out before being brought to a potential new level. bright lights was probably my favorite part of the show. it was definitely a little reminiscent of the 12-29-11 BLBC. the encore was huge, and it definitely made up for a somewhat average show. i think my expectations may have been a little high, because the last UM show i saw before this one was fucking huge. who knows...maybe this show will surprise me when i listen back.

They can play Ocean Billy every day if it keeps leading to the jams it has had lately...

This show was the best of the weekend, and not just because it was the only full two-setter.

Everyone came to play.

Yeah.  As far as I'm concerned they can play Ocean Billy at every show because I fucking love that song.  Especially if I were on a cruise, or an island, or in mexico on the beach, etc.

This OB is more or less the same as the 11/14/09 BH lyrical stew minus the lyrics.  It's the exact same chord progression

Also, there is more bizarre reverb in this one, but it's not nearly as noticeable as in last year's.  It seems that BB's guitar is echoing in the very far left.  It actually sounds really cool at the beginning of the Conduit jam until they drop out and leave Joel (which was a bad decision to my ears.  His part layered REALLY well, but sounds kinda stupid by itself.)

BLBC is awesome.  I love the chord progression that Joel gets going.  Beautiful stuff

There was another instance inside Rocker Part 2 from the 2/11/2010 Asheville show it was played...the repeated Stew thread has been updated.  Gonna try and finish/update that tomorrow night.

The composed parts of MV are horrendous. Bayliss and co. flub more than one lyric and it just sounds awful.

agreed vocals are pretty bad on this one, and ive been forced to eat my words because i really thought MV was going to be a song that they could nail the harmonization

fun show all around

other than the OB, i really like the spacey dissonant tone that joel uses during booth.  its out there, not mind blowing, but definitely suited my mindset at the time.

to give you an idea of where i was at, i thought day nurse was night nurse until they dropped into that syncopated section, juuuust a lil spun.

fucking great encore too, the buildup back into fancy is something to check out too

Indeed!  w/ Triple Wide teases

Other notes are the "In the Hall of the Mountain King" tease in Mulche's and what I thought was an "Ain't no Fun" tease in the Snucka

BLBC is fantastic.  its a total combination of the NYE and Denver/Fillmore versions.
