might have to plug my old philosopher's tone in after hearing that. I took it out because i was pushing in a dirtier, more blues direction and that thing tends to make me want to play super clean. DAMN YOU options!

I've been spending a bunch of time on Ebay recently looking at old guitars that have seen better days.  Thinking about grabbing one on the cheap and fixing it up for fun.

Word to the wise, don't always ask advice on trades from other gear sluts. Just got snaked on a dead mint "used" hand wired 57 Tweed Reissue by a dude who also had a Mesa Mark series to trade. I was really looking forward to a volume and a tone knob and nothing else.  :o

I just bought the two of these for a combined total of $50 after shipping off of Ebay.  I'm gonna have myself a fun little restoration!

Its really funny that you decided to restore some Harmonys.  I just yesterday decided I was going to fix up my dad's Harmony that has been sitting in my closet for a bunch of years.  I think atleast the full size one is an Asian Harmony.  Here is a site I found that specializes in USA made Harmonys.

http://harmony.demont.net/

I used it to figure out what model I had.

Here is mine.  The pots are pretty messed up most of them are pretty tight.

Nice!  That's a pretty little guitar.  The main thing I'm worried about is finding a bridge that works.  I might be able to use a tune-o-matic, but that's not what it should be

It's not too hard to re-route the body for a tune-o-matic.  It might look a little goofy from the previous drill holes, but hey, it's your Frankenstein!

I was thinking about a tunomatic bridge.  If you decide you want to go true refurb then keep checking ebay there are a lot of them just sold for parts.  They never really appreciated in value.  Some people will are asking a whole lot for them but for a $90 guitar in the 60s but as you've seen you can get a deal especially for parts.  Mine was originally a redburst but either my dad or an uncle of mine must have stripped it.

Yeah, i've definitely noticed that a lot of people sell them for parts.  We'll see how I do with this one to start out
