I could go on and on and on.  I've got mad GAS.

Currently I'm playing:
guitars: Mexi Tele, Studio LP, and a homemade Strat
amp: Egnater Rebel 30 combo
pedals: Fulltone OCD, Crybaby Wah

WANT:
I think I'm gonna buy some ASAT pickups and put them in my telel over christmas break.  Seems like a good idea to me. BUT
Guitars:  I really want a damn G&L as well as a PRS. (I also saw a beautiful master built relic strat that was Paisley with black paint over it that was chipping away)
amp: I just want something nice and clean.  Probably a Fuchs
pedals:  Again, I could go on and on and on.  I need a compressor, delay, phase, some more distortion, maybe a morley wah

edit:
Here is that strat:

I've really tried to scale down my pedal board to be a tone machine, not toy factory that distracts me. Currently running this with the WM3 and other than the boost & wah everything is pretty much always on live:

Fender 1972 Telecaster Deluxe (Reissue)
late 90's PRS CE22

->

Morley BH-2>
Boss TU2>
Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone>
Keeley Baked Mod TS9>
Pigtronix Class A Boost>
MXR Carbon Copy

->

Boogie Mark 1
1960's Gibson GT-8

note: I generally use whatever club backline amp that's available & when there's options I gravitate to a Fender Twin

I snagged a Fuchs Lucky 7 head on craigslist for $600 in April.  I couldn't be happier.

Currently have: a mahogany studio LP, AC30, VOXWAH>BOSS SUPERDRIVE SD-1>IBANEZ FZ7 Fuzz>Rocktron Shorttimer Delay>Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibrato>Boss rc-2 Loop station

Simple but I'd like a memory man, a nice flanger, chorus, and a phaser.  Shit's expensive though and I can make what I have sound pretty awesome so I'm not sweating it right now.

I really just want all the pedals in the world on one massive board and plugged in to my amp.

Btw if a beginner wants a multieffects board I have one I am willing to sell.

The OP needs to change the title of this thread. I came in here expecting to chat about recording gear and gear in general - not just guitar gear.

Blasphemy!

I play mostly Bass, but also a little guitar and drums.

 As far as bass goes I play either:
Modulus Quantum 5 with Bartolini Jazz PU's and an Aguilar Preamp
or
Lakland 55-02, which is the import version of Pony's Axe but mine is a Cherry Sunburst with a Quilted Maple Top and a John East URetro Preamp

->

a pedal board with Boss OC-3 and SYB5 Bass Synth, Digitech Bass synth Wah, and full tone tuner pedal

->

MarkBass f1
or
Hartke HA5000

->

Gallien Krueger 410 and 115 stack(LARGER GIGS)
or
Epifani UL210(SMALLER GIGS)

I want A Sadowsky NYC 5-24, an Eden WT800, Bergantino or Epifani Cabs, Source Audio Bass Envelope Filiter Pro, and a source audio soundblox multiwave bass distortion.

As far as guitar goes a play a Godin Solidac which I Love, or a Yamaha APX500 acoustic/electric, and want a PRS and a Sadowsky
No amps other than 2 practice amps but want a small Mesa Combo.

I also have a Yamaha 5pc Stage Custom Drumset with Zildian Cymbals, an electric drumset, an Ibanez SDGR 4string with Seymour Duncan PJ PU's, a 5 String SDGR with active soapbars, and quite a few small bass combo amps that are in storage. Also various intelligent lighting such as Scanners, Moving Heads, LED and regular pars, foggers, that I run with a board or computer depending on what I'm doing.

Damn........ seeing it itemized like that make me realize that I have WAY TOO MUCH gear!!!

My set up includes...

PRS Custom SE
Boss GT-8 multi effects pedal
Mbox 2 Mini midi
Peavy practice amp

I really want to get away from the multi-effects and get some good old fashioned analog pedals.

Note: has anyone else experienced problems with M box 2 not working with new generation macs?

The compatibility with Lion didn't happen until recently with PT10. Are you sure it's problems with the MBox and not Pro Tools? What version of PT are you running, and what generation of MBox do you have?

Im as of recently using the same first five pedals you have (that is the same tuner, compressor, tube screamer, then a Boss DS-1, and a Cry Baby) and am trying to figure out exactly how i want them ordered. What kind of music do you play and what do you like about the order you have them in, if you dont mind me asking.

stopped being lazy and pulled out my Boogie Mark 1 for our show at the Bitter End this Thursday. Took the Philosopher's Tone out of the chain... it just squashes the spongey sound of the Boogie too much.

pretty sure this will be the modified chain.

73 Tele Deluxe Reissue> TU2> Morley BH2> Keeley Baked Mod TS9> Pigtronix Class A Boost> line 6 dl4> Boogie

Got the Keeley and the Boost both barely pushed for different saturation levels, but I'm trying to let the amp do most of the work. Might throw my holy grail reverb on top of the amp, bc the Boogie verb is really understated compared to the Fender vibe I've had lately.

What kind of music do you play and what do you like about the order you have them in, if you dont mind me asking.

As far as music I play mostly rock, which runs the gamut from classic to metal.  I play some jazz and some bluegrass as well, really a lot of stuff.  But as far as gigging I stick to the rock vein (we've even covered some UM for fun).  I played around w/ the order of the pedals and this was the end result.  The compressor is "supposed" to go b4 the distortion, and if I put it after it squashes the distorted tone too much and you lose harmonic richness.  There's the age old debate of whether you want the wah b4 or after the distortion (conventionally you put it after but Hendrix put it b4, for ex)... personally I didnt like the way it sounded b4 the distortion at all so I have it after.  Again, to my ears distorting the "wahed" tone seemed to lose a lot of the definition and the wah wasn't as rich and dynamic.  My sound (as far as just using the comp/dist) is generally:

Clean boost- compressor w/ level @ 2-3 o'clock, sustain @ 12, attack set to almost nothing (8 o'clock)
Rhythm distortion/dirty- Tubescreamer
Bluesy or creamy distortion for leads- Tubescreamer and Compressor
Normal lead tone/full on "chunk"- Tubescreamer and OCD

The OCD is a great pedal and it can get ballsy as all hell (true bypass too!) but the distortion is a bit "dry" for my taste- it sounds very 80s metal-ish like an old boogie or marshall JCM.  So I don't use it by itself too often... the real magic is when you mix it w/ the warmer and more midrange-growly TS and the result is the beautiful creamy harmonic-rich overdrive that I want in my lead tone.  It works equally well for heavy riffing as there's very strong bass and midrange growl but it's not overly distorted to where there's no tone in there and you lose dynamic response.  I can't tell you why but it doesn't sound as good when you switch the two in the chain (having the gtr go to the TS 1st and then the OCD).  Oh, and once I got the Budda wah I swore off the crybaby.  The Crybaby to me is too shrill when down all the way, too thin all around, too hard to engage/disengage while playing and singing onstage, and Budda has none of these problems and a warmer "vowel" sound.  No digs at you man, just my experience.  I love talking about this stuff so feel free to continue the discussion!  How's the DS-1 w/ the 'Screamer?

I dont think its Pro Tools because my computer just doesnt recognize that its plugged in at all. Might be that some of the electronics are messed up. but thanks for the insight.

I'm not sure where you bought it, but I work at Sweetwater, and I'm an audio engineer by trade. I'm not supposed to help people that purchased items from other companies while on the job, but if you want (fellow borter love trumps the boss), give me a call sometime on my work number and I'll see if I can figure out what the problem is. Obviously typing on the computer can't get the whole point across.

Just so you know a bit of my resume - I've been using PT for years, and used to facilitate multiple studios in Minneapolis, as well as, headed up all of the audio at a venue in the cities.
