6/28 was the UMGold show of the year for 07.  The playing merits the title.

a great show (my 1st!), but not better by a long shot. 2007 versions of 40's, WBG, Plunger, and MFF set precedents in my mind in terms of intensity, execution, quality of improv, and setlist/segue flow. in 50 some shows since, i've only seen a few songs at a few shows that even compare with these level, but certainly not an entire show. obvs disclaimer that i haven't been/listened to every show in the past 5 years, but i know that this type of show is what the band strives for every night. they probably nail a couple of these perfect/magical/truly epic shows a couple times a year, and i feel lucky to have been at one of the best of those shows.
