and yeah i wasn't sure if this was going to be a dud like all of the other bort spinoffs but its taken hold and it feels good to have a place with familiar people to waste time on the intertronz again.

There was a great video from NYE 08 auditorium theater... Much Obliged/Closer(NIN)... it had decent sound and caught about 7 minutes of that jam with all of the fantastic lights that went along with it...  (that vertical thin blue maneuver... and then the dizzying sweeping motion... just fantastic work)  

Sadly, it's been removed.  And the other vids from that particular moment aren't nearly as good.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and have that one tucked away somewhere, by chance?

I remember that vid, some great stuff from Waful during that Closer jam.  I remember it being taken by a fan, not necessarily an umvideo.  Are you sure it's been taken down?  Gonna search for a bit...

those lights are just unreal, imagine what waful would do to the auditorium with a bunch of mac III's...when UM comes back to chicago for nye after doing it in a couple different cities they NEED to return to the aud. for another 3 night run.

Nice find!  Hadn't seen that in a while.  I don't believe that Closer jam was on the setlist either for that night.

that's it!!!  didn't remember it being wafuls vid, though.  

I was finding dead youtube links in my gmail that were that vid at one point... could be mistaken.  Great find!!!
