The 05-03-08 the bottom half stew keeps me sane after work. Does anybody have the lyrics down?

That Bottom Half has a lyrical stew?

3/8 - After The Bottom Half   JS#5      Podcast#3

well its after it

I was confused, too...
05-03-08 meant 3/8/05, not 5/3/08
both of which have The Bottom Half

I love this one and never found out exactly where the fuck it came from...how was it just from a dead stop?
WHOA...just noticing this...the end section of this one (before they hop back to reggae) actually has some surprising similarities to a section of the 2/15/06 Visions

4 vocal stews in 5 shows that week. insanity.
which reminds me, I need to revisit the 3/9 Pearl Jam-y one.

Intro/Verse Chords: Gm, Cm, F, Dm (or some variation of Dm)
Chorus Chords: C5, G#5, F5, E5, F5, Dm, Dm, Dm (or some variation of Dm)

You got to believe theres some right in this world
if Iím gonna get thru a night in this world
I guess I could say goodbye to this...

You got to believe that thereís some better way
other ways to take up a saying (?)
.....(say?)

You got to believe theres some right in this world
if Iím gonna get thru a night in this world
I dont want to say goodbye to this world

You got to believe that theres some better way
Some kind of hope that this sight will remain
(some say?)
------------------------------------------------------------
You got to believe theres some right in this world
if Iím gonna get thru a night in this world
cuz I dont want to say goodbye to this world

Be nice to believe that theres some better way
Some kind of hope that this will still remain

You got to believe theres some right in this world,
if Iíll get thru one more night of this world
I dont want to say goodbye to this world

I could believe that theres some better way
Some kind of hope that this sight will remain

I think the most recent version of "Cigarette Cables" is my favorite. Really starting to like the inflection BB is putting into the vocals. And the accompanying music is quite interesting as well.

I got a bunch of nice slim fit slacks from eddie bauer that will custom hem them to the 1/4" and also any waist size for <$50 a piece. Definitely would recommend.

Yeah it's a lot more concise (no jam inside the stew), and is a lot more similar to the camp bisco cig cables.

Boulder still takes the cake for me, but I'll take them anyway they come.

Danrad, I've been DYING to hear the Higgins lyrical stew from 2006.10.06 in Worcester but it's not in the archive AND you list it as "JS" 28 but this 10.6.06 Higgins is NOT on the compiled repeated JS list made in the thread above this one.

Just wanted to give you a heads up on that error!

i agree on the uniqueness of lyrical stews which keeps me engaged to this band...
my take from #149 podcast Seagull Guitar

2013-10-18 Great American

its not like you know this
its all what you make of it
i know you can hear me
just like you were near to me

and i know that you needed
is not what you take from this
yeah, i know you can hear me
i think that you are right near to me

its not what you needed
its all that you take from this
i know you can feel me
yeah, i know you can see

its not like you know best
its all that you take from me
i know you can see me
i know you can feel me
....
its not like you never knew
nobody told you
no one explained a thing

i know that you that you know this
its not what you take from me
i know you conceal it
hard to believe its true

I swear I've heard the 2/10/06 August lyrical stew before...has it been repeated at another show?  It sounds very familiar and I can't figure out why it sounds familiar.

Working on lyrics of the last few Bottom Half vocal stews

2014-04-10 Ft. Lauderdale, FL:
You already know, there isn't any shroud of mystery here.
How many times have you been told to stop listening to your superstition?
It's like you finally made parole
It's like a prison, God is watching you from far [away]
You really think that you're old
I bet your brother begs to differ a message that I won't deliver here
You already know, there isn't any shroud of mystery here
You really think you're that old
I bet your brother begs to differ a message that I won't deliver here
It's like you made parole

2014-03-19 Aspen, CO:
Everybody wants something they cannot have
Though some may never get it, never hurts to ask
So everybody starts with the same motivation
I need a little love and less conversation
Everybody acts like their hands are clean...

2013-12-28 Denver, CO:
Know, it's so obvious
Know, it's all a problem here
And I know the system's not working right
You know it's [words] I deserve a strong [will] to die

2013-02-06 Fargo, ND:
Do as I say, not as I do
And all these thoughts they fall on you
Please forgive me when I fall
I knew what's better all along
Do as I say, not as I live
I know what's [more] for you than me
And I'll [inaudible]
And I never meant to let you down
I'll make it up to you next time around
Please don't just settle for what's left
I'll always [inaudible] before I [inaudible]

Really like the 4/10/14 and 2/6/13.

Okay, I'm gonna drop this in here and only in here, share with whoever you like.

Anyone interested in joining a project I just started that is secondarily a Google Tracking spreadsheet for Repeated (and non-repeated) Jimmy Stewarts and Lyrical stews (with Lyrics).  Primarily there is a small group of people who who have been rating every Umphreys song they have ever played (very slowly, spreadsheet only a month old).  Those ratings get averaged up per the community for each song.  Those song averages get bundled up into an overall Show average ranking and then we are implementing some cool auto-updating lists such as "Top 10 shows per year" and "Top 10 versions of a song" etc. Feel free to email me at aaronlebo8@gmail.com. Would love to have some of you guys who take the Lyrical Stews seriously in there helping us build a valuable resource for umphreaks.

BTW, I used this thread plus the repeated JS thread to start my list, so we are up to date with these plus some.  Thank you to originally creator for all the hard work putting this thread together.

Thanks,
Aaron \mm/
