Any Colour You Like - Pink Floyd

Oh man, that would be unbelieveable! I'd trade every song I listed for them to cover if they did this one. I think it would fit UM's sound perfectly, and be a nice song to sandwich between something else, like maybe Blue Echo per se.

My thoughts exactly.

I'd probably go into "crazy summercamp chick" mode and try to pull the plug on the show if UM covered this song.

Weren't they "working on this" towards the end of 2009?  I think Pony said they were at some S2.  Either way when/if it ever happens, I'll shit bricks.

I think I just popped wood thinking about Jake destroying both Mark Knoepfler solos in this song. They would absolutely kill this song. It seems too perfect.

It's just one of the hilarious songs I've always wanted to hear somebody cover, I figured if anybody could pull it off it'd be Umphrey's. IMO it would fit into the category of off-the-wall covers they throw in every now and again.

Tighten Up - The Black Keys (imagine how much this could open up, Jake would tear it a new one, and BB would kill the vocal delivery)
Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon - The Flaming Lips (feel like it could become a spacey danceable version)
Les Brers in A Minor - ABB (is an explanation needed?)
Positively 4th Street or Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan (idk why i just see these as NYE cover choices, kind of straightforward but you can always count on UM to take a straightforward song much higher)

Just heard a few on the radio I thought UM should cover.

Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf - It may be kind of cliche but UM would do wonders with this song and they could tack a sweet jam on the end of this tune.
Lean on Me - Bill Withers - For some reason, I am envisoning this as a great NYE cover, kind of like NYE 08 with "With a Little Help From my Friends." I imagine this being a great sing along tune for the crowd, and I think Joel would shine on this one.
Some Kind of Wonderful - Grand Funk Railroad - I'm not too familiar with GFR but this song sounds like one that UM could just kill. Maybe there are some other GFR songs that UM would be better suited to tackle, but this one was on the radio and caught my ears.

"Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley

+1

I'd probably go into "crazy butt naked spun-out-of-her mind summercamp chick" mode and try to pull the plug on the show if UM covered this song.

FYP. Unfortunately, I can hear Brendan singing it.  I would just be so utterly disappointed with that choice over thousands of other covers that I may have to fight off Wade and start unplugging equipment.

The songs of Don Henley's solo career belong on the overhead speakers at Kmart.
Now, if we want to talk Eagles solo projects, the clear choice for the necessary Um cover is Life's Been Good from Joe Walsh.
