Rawktopus, it's the internet. If you say something smart there is a good chance you still might get made fun of. If you say something even remotely dumb or dweeby, RIP. Not going to change anytime soon.

No idea who this Mike is y'all keep clamoring about, but I've been a member for over a year now, and had just been lurking and hanging in the shadows.  I finally got the courage to make some posts and everyone immediately starts shitting on my opinion.  I have the same people following me around in every thread, basically acting like their view or their opinion is sacred law.  Then I find out that these same people, don't even regularly listen to Umphrey's! That absolutely amazes me. Is your life that shitty that you just come here every day to hate on things, like the band's forum that you are logged into? Forgive me, but doesn't that just seem crazy to you?

Sorry for being a real fan

see what I mean?  People told me to avoid this place, I should have listened.

But I couldn't help it.  Sorry (not sorry) for fucking loving this band.  I thought  it would be a place I could come to  and talk about the band we ALL love - who have been KILLING it lately despite what all of you "veterans" think.

It's so much better that Rawktopussy is a real acct.

^Same here. I figure it's worth it to get in early and stand around bored for a bit in order to get a nice railing spot. Plus, sometimes the openers are real fun.

I'm imagining EB showing up 4 hours early and waiting in line to get a nice railing spot thinking "this is totally fine"

I have a super comfortable life thanks to the weed industry, a beautiful girlfriend thats loved me dearly for years,  a super well behaved dog and cat, and a small handful of good, dependable, trustworthy friends.  Nothing lasts forever and it could all be gone tomorrow.  I make a conscious effort to savor it every day which makes it even sweeter.

Make fun all youd like.   I wouldn't trade my spot with your scenester ass for all the money in the world.   Thanks for your concern with my quality of life.

You're like a child.

"You aren't near as cool as me bc you post on a dbmb for a decade" says the fanboy racking up his post count.  LOL. I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together

The "if you don't unequivocally love every little thing that Umphrey's does or you criticize literally anything at all, you should just stop seeing this band completely" mentality always amazes me. Can we call it FascisUM or is that too terrible?

If you're going to go full fanboy, I'd think the Bort is the best place to do it.  I've never understood why people get criticized for it here.

I love positivity these days.  I'm all for supporting the boys and the RAWK.  But don't throw a temper tantrum and start melting down because somebody thinks hindsight sucks!

That stretch of positivity in the Red Rocks threads was pretty refreshing.  Being a called "loser' for wanting a setlist or to ride the rail is pretty lame imo.

I don't have any problem whatsoever with people who love Hindsight or people who think a show with no improv is just as good as 6/5/08. To each their own. Some of my closest tour buddies have opinions that deviate starkly from my own, and I think it's great. I also tend to be more positive about modern UM than some of the other "vets" on here, I've been saying It's Not Us is my favorite UM album unironically and I think their jams are just about as good as they've ever been (with hot streaks and lulls on cyclical basis same as ever)

The reason that 'topus is a douche is not because he enjoys extremely basic UM or because he doesn't have any criticisms, it's because he bashes the rest of us for being critical and discussing things that we don't like
